Armstrong Surveying worked for 3 three weeks on a project for the Port of Morrow Authority to test if railroad tracks had moved during the boring process for a new pipeline. Railroad track surveying was needed to ensure that the elevation of the tracks remained steady during the boring process. We used Trimple S6 Total Station to monitor for the tightest, most-precise tolerances. If the tracks moved more than 1/8th of an inch we were required notify port authority and the Union Pacific railroad.
